Sam: One of my male friends (who is gay, in case you're interested...) is a big fan of online dating. He recently met a guy, courtesy of www.okcupid.com. The two talked for hours on the phone, and then finally met in person in Cleveland a few weekends ago. They are currently dating and incredibly happy with each other.
This another thing that comes down to preferences. Online dating can be super sketch, but if taken with the right approach with the correct safety precautions, it can be incredibly successful. Kudos to those with the balls to give it a shot.
Allison: I've never dated online, and I don't plan on it. While it's great for those people who find love, I hear way too many horror stories about people meeting up with someone they've been talking to online for a while, only to find they're 30 years older than they led on, or not nearly as good looking! I would much rather have a friend set me up with someone than risk meeting up with someone I thought looked like Brad Pitt, but really looks like Steve Buscemi.
Samantha: I know an older couple that met online and they are happily married. They both had lost their spouse and spent some years alone until their friends talked them into online dating. Bruce was all the way in California and Ruby was in Ohio. After they were talking for awhile, they fell in love and Bruce ended moving here and married Ruby.
